As is usually the case with the first entry to such sites, i am unaware exactly what to write and how this very paragraph will end. This journal is to be semi-private, accessed to only those who know of it which i assume will be only those to whom i give the link, and as such i am having difficulty writing in such a format.
I am finding it hard to write down my thoughts, for once unjustified by obligation, for once writing solely for myself, and not influenced by how i wish the reader to react. I now do not have to censor my words, thoughts and opinions due to the anonymity of the internet. I no longer have to follow basic writing format either. I could write back to front or in a language of my very own if i had the inclination.
I also do not have to doggedly watch my handwriting and so not have to manipulate myself to suit others preferences, something, i am sad to say, i have fallen into doing after countless school assignments.
I do however feel a strange sense of pressure while writing this. Even though i may chose not to show this to anyone, i feel as if i will be judged by it. If i were to meet with some untimely end, anyone who had never known me could simply log online, read these passages and say, "Oh, so this is what she was like."
And perhaps, when left unaided by by the external stimuli of my many books, television shows and musical interests i am not as smart as i would like to think. This inclination to rely on my literary interests is even apparent in my username.
But regardless, i think that at least attempting to put down my thoughts would be good for me in the long run. I hope it gets me out of that "School style writing" rut.
